A sedan crashed into a group of students in Huludao, Liaoning province, killing five and wounding 18, the local government said on Thursday. The driver tried to flee the scene but was apprehended by police in the afternoon.
辽宁少葫芦岛警方周四通报称，一辆轿车撞倒多名学生，造成5人死亡，18人受伤。肇事逃离现场，但随后被警方抓获。

据《北京青年报》报道，周四中午，辽宁省葫芦岛市建昌县第二小学的学前班学生（preschool children）在校门口（school's entrance）排队过马路（cross the road）期间，一辆奥迪车突然驶向人群（rammed the crowd），造成多名学生受伤。
目击者表示，事发道路被封锁，有救护车（ambulance）和警车（police cars）来往，现场有一些孩子的鞋子、杂物，还有血迹（blood）。
周四下午，当地警方表示，嫌疑人驾驶肇事车辆奥迪A6向乡下逃跑（flee the scene into the countryside），途中被民警抓获（apprehended by police）。
目前事故原因（the cause of the incident）正在调查中。
建昌县委宣传部表示，事故已造成5人死亡（claimed five lives）、18人受伤（wounding）。
