A photograph of the registration card of a newborn in Xi'an, Shaanxi province has gone viral online because she has a unique name: Wangzhe Rongyao, or King of Glory, a popular mobile game.
近日，陕西省西安市一位新生儿的户口本照片走红网络，因为她有一个独一无二的名字：王者荣耀，这也是一款流行手游的名字。On domestic social network platforms, many have questioned whether the man has violated social rules by naming his daughter King of Glory.
在国内社交网络平台上，许多网友质疑这位父亲给女儿取名王者荣耀是否违反了相关规定。But local police have said people have the right to choose any name for their children, and there is nothing "illegal" or "immoral" about the newborn's name.
不过当地警方表示，人们有权选择自己孩子的名字，新生儿的名字没有什么“不合法”或者“不道德”的说法。
And since the name is composed of standard Chinese characters, they have registered it.
由于名字中的几个字都是标准中国汉字，所以他们已经给其注册了。Yet it remains debatable whether the father has made a wise choice because the name "King of Glory" could cause inconveniences to the girl.
不过，这位父亲是否是做了一个明智的决定，仍是有争议的，因为这个名字将来很可能会为这个女孩儿带来困扰。
First, a name distinguishes one person from another. But if a person is named after a popular mobile game, he or she could become an object of ridicule or jokes. Which in turn could make the person a loner and affect his or her character.
首先，名字可以将人与人区别开。但如果一个人的名字来自于一款流行手游，她或他就可能会成为别人嘲笑或开玩笑的对象。这反过来会使这个人不合群，并影响她/他的性格。Second, King of Glory as a game might be the father's favorite, but it certainly is not the girl's favorite at this stage. In such a case, does the man have the right to impose his love for the game on his daughter?
其次，“王者荣耀”可能是这位父亲最爱的一款游戏，但眼下一定不是他女儿最喜爱的。因此，父亲是否有权利将自己所爱强加到女儿身上？And if the girl is unhappy with her name after growing up, she would want to change it, which would involve quite a complicated legal procedure.

She has to get them changed, too, which again would be troublesome. Does the man want his daughter to go through all that trouble?

总之，西安这位父亲的这一做法可能没有违法，却并不可取。
