Half a century ago, Liang Zifu and his wife, Li Suying, moved into a cave. They have lived there ever since.

Located near the village of Lingyinsi in Nanchong, Sichuan province, their 200-square-meter "house" has three bedrooms, a living room, a kitchen and a storage room.
坐落在四川省南充市灵隐寺附近的他们的家，占地约200平方米，有三间卧室，一间客厅，一间厨房和一间储藏室。The furniture is all made of wood, and the stove is built out of clay and stones.
家具都是木制的，炉子是用粘土和石头建成的。Liang and Li moved into the cave in 1962 because it was the only home they could afford.
梁自付和李素英在1962年搬进山洞，因为这是他们唯一能负担得起的家。At that time, there was only one cottage for seven members of Liang's family. They made a living by planting wheat and corn.
当时，梁家的七个成员只有一间小屋。他们通过种植小麦和玉米来谋生。In addition, Liang planted orange, peach and walnut trees on the mountains nearby.

Liang said he initially wanted to live in the cave for just three years. His plan was to accumulate enough money to build a cottage for his family.
梁自付表示，他最初只想在洞里住3年。他的计划是积累足够的钱，为他的家人建造一间小屋。However, with the successive births of four children, his financial burden became increasingly heavier, making his dream impossible to realize.

虽然这迫使他们生活在极度贫困中，但是梁自付和他的妻子选择把他们的钱花在孩子的教育上。Two of his four children have received higher education. His eldest son, 54, is an engineer working in Chengdu. His eldest daughter is a middle school teacher.
他的四个孩子中有两个已经接受了高等教育。他的长子54岁，是在成都工作的工程师。他的长女是一位中学老师。Having gotten used to the lifestyle, the couple now refuses to move out of their home, though their children often try to persuade them.
虽然他们的孩子经常试图说服他们，但是习惯了这种生活方式的这对夫妇，现在拒绝搬出他们的家。"If we leave, who will take care of the chickens, dogs and fruit trees?" Li said.
李素英表示：“如果我们离开，那么谁会照顾鸡、狗和果树？”Liu Zongfu, party secretary of Lingyinsi, said the village leadership also tried to get the couple to move out of their cave, but they refused to leave.
灵隐寺村党支部书记刘宗福表示，村领导也试图让夫妇离开他们的山洞，但是他们拒绝离开。To at least make their lives easier, the village has provided them with electricity and water.
为了至少让他们的生活更容易些，村里为他们提供了电和水。
