South Korea is set to ban the sale of coffee at allelementary, middle and high schools in an effort topromote healthier lifestyles among children.

韩国将禁止在所有小学、初中和高中销售咖啡,以促进儿童的健康生活方式。

The ban, starting September 14, will affect bothstudents and teachers.

这项从9月14日开始的禁令将对学生和老师产生影响。

Products that are high in calories or caffeine arealready restricted or banned in the country'sschools. However, coffee remains available forteachers via vending machines and snack shops.

Under the new law, all coffee products will be made unavailable, even for teachers.

"The revision aims to create healthy eating habits among children and teenagers," an officialfrom South Korea's Ministry of Food and Drug Safety said. "We will make sure coffee is bannedat schools without fail."

The ministry had said that consuming too much caffeine can cause dizziness, a rapidheartbeat, sleep disorders or nervousness, and can harm a child's physical and mental healthif consumed continuously, The Korea Times reported.

据《韩国时报》报道,该部门曾表示,过量摄入咖啡因会导致头晕、心跳加速、睡眠紊乱或神经紧张,如果持续摄入,会损害儿童的身心健康。

Latest figures from the International Coffee Organization show South Korea consumed 2.3 kilograms of coffee per capita annually, the highest among Asian countries.

Nanjing University has collected incoming freshmen'sliving habits, hobbies and other characteristicsthrough online questionnaires for the second year, providing big data for precisely arranging forcompatible students to live together.

The university launched the online questionnaires inearly August, containing not only survey options, such as study and rest timetables, air conditionerpreferences and personal hygiene habits, but also open-ended questions such as interests andhobbies.
